Greetings from the mission field! Welcome to Volume 5 of The Whites On Mission Newsletter, where we share stories of God’s work across the nations.
A Season in Indiana
Many of you are wrapping up summer and the kids are starting school, and that is what we are doing too!
Our family will be in Indiana for the next few months. Benjamin will begin 6th grade, and Andrew will be in 4th. This means new schools and new friends. Kevin will be working remotely, and Karen will be recovering from knee surgery.
While August will be very busy for our family, we want to reflect back on an awesome week our family had with two amazing churches.
Broken Arrow Baptist Church in Cúcuta
First, Broken Arrow Baptist Church served in Cúcuta, and Kevin and Benjamin were able to join them to translate for the beginning of the trip. Heather and Kyle led the team well, and we are so proud of those who Go and Serve.
I received a few messages from the team about how great Ben did, and they wished he could have stayed the whole time. What a blessing the team has been for so many years—and will continue to be—to the missionaries, pastors, and people in Cúcuta.
Northside Baptist Church in Bogotá
Second, Northside Baptist Church came for a Vision trip with 14 team members. It was our first team in Bogotá, but we did it together. Northside has said they wanted to partner with us for three years and see what the Lord has them do.
We showed them our office and shared our position with the company and community. The team visited with locals in our area to evangelize and share more information about our church. We went to an Indigenous shelter to share The Creation Story from Genesis 1–3 and loved on the Emberá people group.
On our final day, we went two hours away to help a church with an English Club. What an encouragement Northside was to our family, as well as the people of Bogotá! Thank you, Northside, for Going to the Nations.
We thank you for your prayers and support, whether we are in Indiana or in Bogotá!
