whites on mission
Kevin and Karen met while pursuing their seminary degrees in Louisville, KY at Southern Seminary and graduated the same year. They continued dating and working full time, always following God’s call in mission with short-term mission trips together and apart. Their heart for serving and missions is what brought them together, and they have been married since 2014.
Working and serving in ministry, God grew their family in 2015 as they welcomed Benjamin and in 2017 with Andrew. The boys are energetic, fun, creative, and also have a heart for missions. In 2024 both boys gave their lives to Christ and were baptized together by Kevin at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lafayette, Indiana, with their friends and family celebrating God’s work in their lives.
Being faithful to God’s calling, the Whites spent three years in Cucuta, Colombia serving with Samaritan’s Purse and working with the Venezuelan refugees fleeing their country. It was an incredible time for the family to learn to minister together and celebrate being overseas. With so many lifelong friends made there, it was difficult to leave, but they trusted in God’s direction
Once returning to the US, God continued to keep their love for Colombia in their hearts and minds. Living by Purdue University, they discovered a community of Colombian grad students living next to them, and began ministering to them by opening their home, showing them Purdue, and introducing them to other Christians in Lafayette.
Back in Colombia is where they are today, serving with the International Mission Board and looking forward for how God can use all four of them. Their specific position is Logistics Service Consultants. Kevin and Karen help missionaries who have been sent to Colombia find housing, vehicles, and other administrative work that is both critical and time-consuming in another country.
The Whites look forward to also connecting with those in the US, family, friends, pastors, and churches.
