COVID in Colombia

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/11/world/americas/coronavirus-latin-america-inequality.html

This is a very good snapshot of what is happening in Colombia to both Venezuelans and Colombians during this pandemic. Colombia had a severe lockdown with no one allowed outside except for one day for groceries and medicine. I'm sure some of the comments about the rich are true, but we have seen even the middle class/wealthy in trouble as most have lost their jobs and all that that implies. At least half of the boys' classmates are not able to attend school. The lockdown has eased but in the last couple of days, COVID reached Cucuta and cases are quickly rising from 250 total as of last week to almost 600 yesterday. As part of Samaritan's Purse, we have been one of the few organizations responding especially to the Venezuelans and Colombians in need such as our feeding site at the Tienditas border camp. Continue to pray for Colombia and Venezuela, Samaritan's Purse, and for us as we minister with SP and as a family.

WE PART TO MEET

He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.
